My husband’s new councelor, my new best friend.

My husaband and I have always had similar experiences with therapy. We both go, but always end up pretty dissapointed. Lately, my husband is seeing someone who is actually someone that is willing to help him… and she puts her money where her mouth is. She knows we are in a bit of a money situation - namely - lack of money, but she is still willing to call me back at 10pm to advise me on the latest situation where my husband was, well, “not in a good place”.

More specifically, he left the apartment in the middle of a snowstorm (it would have been with a disassembled shotgun (not sure why I still allow that in the house…) and told me that he would just freeze to death because he was depressed.  I called her, and she called me right back and was willing to talk and give me good advice.

Anyway, it’s 4 minutes until 2009 (on the east coast) and 2009 is supposed to be a better year. It’s supposed to be symbolic of hope and change and things maybe getting a little bit better. An unforgettable year….economically. Let’s reflect. Ok, I am done reflecting.

The hubby is back in Portland, seemingly doing well. I talked to him on the phone and he seemed ok. He saw his therapist today - perfect timing. She told him to look for a part time job. I thought that was a good idea. She also told him that he could call and she would fit him in for free one day. It almost seems too good to be true.

I guess I’ll be here till sunday and then to Virginia till next friday, and then back home the next sunday. I am not going to think about the trip, I am just going to do it and get it over with. I hope my husband finds a job. I hope he finds a part time job that treats him good and pays him ok.

I think I’ve said enough for today.
